Specialists state that mortgage loans help a lot of people to live the way they want, just because they can feel free to buy necessary goods. Moreover, various banks give financial loan for all people.

This is genuinely effective, but I think you've got an uphill battle. The Canadian government doesn't take climate change seriously. Maybe embarrassment will be effective. I hope it is, but I don't have a lot of faith in Mr. Harper.

Canada's rising CO2
I think your opening page advertising the new warmer Canada is hilarious!
It turns the stern pseudo-warnings made by the IPCC and other cronies on their head. Warming (if it occurs) would be of immense benefit to us all, including Canada.
Sadly, in reality, it is temperature that precedes CO2 rise, but I love the ad anyway, because it laughs at CO2 stupidity.
Keep pumping out that CO2 Canada... CO2 isn't a pollutant and is of vital use to our planet, despite what fake science says (repeated by some of your critics here).
One of my jobs is Tourism Consultant for the Balkans, and I can tell you your new advertisement is going to get noticed. Good for you!
Don't let the critics get to you. Keep it coming!

@ Bruce

most climate change models show Eastern Canada cooling as the climate changes. So actually cooling temperatures in Ontario is perfectly consistent with the science. More to the point, local temperature changes aren't the issue. Sea ice, ocean acidification, and global mean temperature increases are more significant. The fact that everyone is looking at the very real possibility of a Northwest Passage Shipping lane opening in the next couple years is very much proof that you need to learn a little bit more about what is going on around you. This isn't a call it as you see it situation. This is an inform yourself and make a change situation.

We've had cooler than average winters for the last 2 years here in northeastern Ontario and solid winters for the last 4 years. It looks like this will continue for 09/10 winter. Soooooooo....I think somethings amiss on the global warming theory for the near future. Just calling it the way I see it.
#29 - Bruce - 11/18/2009 - 09:08
These Oil and Gas morons in Calgary are responsible for all of Canada's Global Warming- they will destroy this planet- it is not a matter of if , but when.
#28 - Ron Christianson - 11/17/2009 - 16:26
i live in northern ontario and some people said that canada is cooling thats rong becuse its nov 18 still no snow.

You Already Have The Power To Fix This, So Do It
Truth be known it takes a few minutes to realize your words are sarcasm towards the government and not your real thoughts on the situation of climate change.

For the last five years my company has spent almost every nickel and dime and waking moment building solutions that will reduce our consumption of power and I myself spend hours a day demonstrating to others how they can reduce CO2 emissions in their everyday lives and more times than I care to think about I receive the response that I should just give up cause there is nothing that can be done about climate change and we will just have to live with it.

But still, I carry on, continuing to put hope in humanity that there are people out there like me who do believe that we can reduce CO2 emissions just as we did in reducing damage to the ozone layer. Again we need to quote Dr. Robert Watkins: "We may indeed be over-estimating the problem. We may be under-estimating it. This is not a reason to do nothing."

I am doing something, and I urge you all to start doing something and if you don't know where to start, then by all means join me by becoming a member of Brilyn's Carbon Offset Co-op. (www.briynestates.com) Become part of an organization that will build solutions and self sustainable communities and help yourself by becoming educated.

If you start putting your money into companies such as mine who are working hard on producing clean technologies that will reduce your dependency on fossil fuels you will hit the politicians and corporate giants of toxic industries hard in their wallets where they will no longer be able to cause damage.

Sadly, there is still over 60% of Canada's population that believes there is nothing we can do about this global crisis.

Why else would they continue to vote for politicians who have already been proven to be liars and thieves, politicians who take your hard earned money and use it to support the oil and gas industries and the toxic corporate giants rather than supporting the industries that are working towards reducing CO2 and other toxic emissions.

In fact the only stand these politicians have left to run on is to promote themselves as less of a liar or thief than the other guy and 60% of the population like the drones they are go ahead and vote for them believing in some miraculous change.

They won't change because there is too much profit in what they do, and because they have 60% of the population willing to buy these toxic products without question.

They get these profits because they know that this 60% will ignore the situation and continue to go back and forth to work everyday filling up their gas tanks, sitting with their car idling in timmy's drive thru waiting for that fix of coffee, and they know that this 60% don't even care how much they take of their paycheck as long as they leave them enough money for gas to go to work and coffee at timmy's.

This 60% is feeding the very same system that has been built to destroy mankind and they won't care until it gets so bad that it starts to affect their tiny little perfect worlds and by then it will be too late.

I say, rather than wasting your time playing in their system, and swimming around desperately yelling from the toxic waste dumps they are building, get up off your butts and start hitting them where it hurts, in their wallets. If you start making changes in your own lifestyle to reduce your consumption of power and fossil fuels, and start supporting the companies who can make changes for you, then you will stop feeding their system and they will have no choice but to go away while we work with the rest of the world to make life better.

We have clean alternatives to fossil fuel and toxic products, we have had them for many many years, and the only reason you haven't heard of them is because media and politicians to date have been working hard at suppressing them. You could already be living in a self sustainable home and have your power supplied to your 12 volt appliances by wind and solar or run your car on clean alternative fuel, but there was so much more profit available to the politicians and corporate giants by making you dependent on fossil fuels.

And as for global warming, well it doesn't really matter whether you believe this global warming is man made or a natural phenomenon, because now the real threat is toxins in our water and food supply, and if we don't do something such as reducing our CO2 emissions to cool the planet, even by two degrees, the ice will melt, the water tables will rise and all the toxic industries lying on our shorelines will be flooded, washing all those toxins into the very same water that sustains human life.

Don't worry about the planet, it will survive because it naturally takes the proper measures to protect itself from disasters. The real question is, are you going to take the proper measures to protect yourself and get involved by supporting the companies that are working towards reducing emissions or are you going to just sit there complaining while you keep feeding the system that will destroy most of mankind?

Let me explain to you the scientific process by which the IPCC creates reports on Climate Change. The scientist who created this process is Dr. Robert Watkins. He headed up the committee to examine the ozone layer crisis back in the day. A crisis which we will look back at as the one time science and political will were allowed to prevail against corporate interests. He knew when he was tapped to head the IPCC, he'd be up against oil, gas and cars. Which is a tougher opponent then refrigeration and hairspray. He knew his team would be up against mind-bending opposition, so he knew his science had to be air tight. He went about creating the most stringent scientific process every seen in the history of scientists studying stuff. ... Read More

He and his team make a report, with input from industry. That report is sent around to a dozen scientists that take a look and add input. This is considered to be a fairly solid "first draft'.

That draft is then sent to EVERY RELEVANT SCIENTIST ON EARTH, almost 2500 in all. And they all get to add input. Then and only then is it released to the public, to get torn to shreds by such oafs as Glenn Beck.

I'm sorry to get shirty, but this is serious shit. When you look for self serving lies, I think the ones the oil cartel has been telling are much more suspect. MUCH MORE.

And to quote Dr. Watkins himself: "We may indeed be over-estimating the problem. We may be under-estimating it. This is not a reason to do nothing."

Do not blacken your soul by taking the side of fake oil-company run think tanks who spread mis-information passed off as science. The IPCC hands down has the higher standards of truth.

Great job
Thank you for doing this! And shame on our government for not doing more.
#24 - Sascha - 11/10/2009 - 20:29
Well done!
Well done, whoever you are! Maybe shame will get us to act...

Umm
Okay. Just don't drink *any* of the kool-aid here.
#22 - Gregor - 11/06/2009 - 00:49
Finally -- some sanity to an insane direction Canada is following
This reminds me of the "clean coal" adds put out by lobby groups like CEI backed by oil and gas industry with claims of "CO2...It's what we breathe." Finally, the tables are turning and the ludicrous inaction on climate change in Canada is being ridiculed. Very Stephen Colbert. I love it! Good work, whoever you are!!

Good night, Did you have a happy halowen? !

@Recyclenot: This site has nothing to do with Adbusters magazine. Apparently Adbusters put a link on their web site, but this isn't their project.

Verrrrry Interestink ...
So this is what Adbusters does when they're not compiling lists of people they suspect of being Jewish.

Can't come fast enough
Record lows and early snows here 600 miles south of Canada. When do the computer models say I can book my Canadian tropical vacation?

Weather isn't climate you say? Remember that next time there is a warmer than usual summer, though I'm betting we won't see one of those for a while.
#16 - Marshall - 10/31/2009 - 12:07
Why?
Isn't this website and video sort of redundant? I thought Canada already had a tax-payer funded nonstop shit-geyser of Global Warming propaganda called the CBC?
#15 - Wile E. Coyote - 10/31/2009 - 03:12
Tough
It is really difficult to see how stupid you can be - "the polar bears may not be here much longer" - are you just trying to attract like mindless idiots? Will that help Canada, or do you think it will make it easier to separate them from their cash?

And by the way, polar bears CAN SWIM! Too bad you seem to indicate otherwise for the imbecilic coloring contest. Hmm two colors - white and blue - which will I use to color what?
#14 - Pence Fost - 10/30/2009 - 21:54
A great effort
However, I look forward to Canada becoming a warmer more habitable place. It would be a great improvement over it's current status as frozen hellhole.
#13 - Matthew - 10/30/2009 - 15:53
A fine presentation. Well done. I think those who don't believe in Climate Change live in the city and can't see the changes. Down here in rural Australia we are seeing significant changes right before our eyes.
#12 - Chris - 10/27/2009 - 19:41
I believe in climate change, but I don't think anybody is listening about how to fix it.
#11 - Candace - 10/27/2009 - 07:05
#10 - Stefan Dion - 10/26/2009 - 05:29
A nice fantasy!
Ah, if only it were true. I'm 100% in favour of a warmer Canada! Alas, we just had a week of snow at the beginning of October. Anything I can do to hasten this "Global Warming" you keep blabbering about?

And here's a better video:

I can't figure out where people get the idea that Canada and/or the planet have been cooling for the past decade. To quote http://www.msc-smc.ec.gc.ca/ccrm/bulletin/national_e.cfm "summer temperatures have remain at or above normal since 1993. The red dashed line indicates, summer temperatures have warmed over the last 62 years by 0.9°C. The national temperature departures table shows the full list of summer values in the order from warmest to coolest, and shows that 5 of the warmest 10 years have occurred within the last decade." And from http://www.yaleclimatemediaforum.org/2009/08/warmest-by-fair-margin/
"The world has, in fact, continued to warm over the past decade in all five available temperature series (including both satellite and surface records), though the trend for some series is statistically indistinguishable from zero. The only way to obtain a cooling trend over the period is to cherry-pick an earlier start date to include the 1997-1998 El Niño event or to look at a time span of eight years or fewer."

I wish this was a real ad, unfortunately the earth has been cooling for 12+ years so not even an accurate joke, CANADA is COOLING..

The Polar Bear Coloring Page
The polar bear coloring page is hilarious. Very effective site.
#4 - Meghan - 10/23/2009 - 15:49
if you have proof of global warming then this is funny.
#3 - M. Patel - 10/23/2009 - 11:04
Very funny. You nearly had me. Fine job.
#2 - Kerri - 10/22/2009 - 14:51
A really funny video. If only CO2 had a significant relationship to climate, then you would have something. But alas, your video is built upon bunk and therefore can only been treated as satire.
#1 - Richard - 10/22/2009 - 01:07
This isn't real, right? Is Canada really bad on climate change?
